Supercharged Pumpkin Spice Latte

As we head deeper into November, the weather still has me craving all things pumpkin. This has been one of the hottest Falls I have ever experienced in the Michigan. It is already the second week of November and every day has been in the 60s and sunny! It is absolutely gorgeous. Fall in Michigan is my favorite time of year. I got home from my workout this morning (at FLEXcity Fitness!) and was starving. I whipped up a hearty omelette and was craving a warm, comforting, slightly sweet drink. But then again… when am I not craving that? Anyways, this drink is the perfect alternative to a Starbucks pumpkin spice latte, if not better. Caffeine, spice, protein. That should be on a tank top.

I’m calling this a “supercharged” PSL because it is dairy-free, whole30-friendly, paleo, simple, organic ingredients. And once again, CAFFEINE! And PROTEIN! Say whaaaaat? I decided to not use any sweeteners because I find that pumpkin is a little sweet? If you need to kick up the sweetness, simply add 1 teaspoon of pure maple syrup and you’re golden.

SO, why fat? According to Dave Asprey, owner of Bulletproof Executive, it “supercharges your brain function and create effortless fat loss with no cravings.” Pretty cool right? Aside from the whole fat loss thing, I just generally love the way it tastes and it is a great way to get in healthy fats. Starting your day with healthy fats gives you tons of energy and is good for cognitive function! Which I need after working and studying all day, erryday. Fun fact, it is also great for your hormone production 🙂

And last, but not least- Vital Proteins. I have seen their products all over social media lately, but was a little skeptical. They ended up sending me a box of goodies to try aaaaand I fell in love with their products. I use their whey, beauty greens, and collagen peptides- ALL of them are worth the investment! I use the collagen peptides in my coffee almost every morning, chug the beauty greens down for glowing skin, nails, and hair, and use their whey protein for a post-workout drink. Supercharged Pumpkin Spice Latte

Warm, spicy, comforting cup of coffee with added nutritional benefits!

Ingredients
  1. 2 Tablespoons organic pumpkin puree
  2. 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  3. 1 packet of Vital Proteins Grass-Fed Collagen
  4. 1 Tablespoon pure, organic vanilla extract
  5. 1 Tablesppon grass-fed, unsalted BUTTA!
  6. 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  7. 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  8. 1/2 cup strong, hot coffee
Instructions
  1. Blend it all up!
  2. Pour and top with cinnamon.
  3. Enjoy immediately.
Notes
  1. The pumpkin pie spice and butter amounts are what I like in my coffee. Feel free to add little by little of each until you find your perfect blend 🙂
