Orange Ginger Grainless Granola

Baking/cooking is medicine to me. Life has been busy, per usual, and I haven’t been able to play in the kitchen as much as I would like to. I had the whole day to myself a few weeks ago, ran to Trader Joe’s and bought a ton of random things, and got my booty in the kitchen! Out of it came this delicious granola… you GUYS it is SO delicious! I know I’ve made granola in the past, but the flavors in this are incredible. If you don’t like ginger, don’t worry, it is not overpowering! Ginger is probably one

The BEST Carrot Cake Cupcakes

I’ve been on a little baking kick this week. Carrot cake is my favorite dessert of all time. It is so rich, moist, and I love the different textures. The 7-layer carrot cake from Mitchell’s is to-die-for. Sam and I always get it whenever we go there or when we are celebrating something. Considering that that cake is 7-layers of straight sugar, I decided to recreate it and ohhhh man… I think I nailed it. Sam took a bite, looked at me, and said, “These are way better than Mitchell’s, I promise.” SUCCESS. The mixture of carrot, coconut, and cinnamon is

Pumpkin Chai Bread

Guys… IT’S HERE. Not officially, but the weather says otherwise. Fall weather is my faaaavorite season! Get ready for lots of Fall-ish recipes. Ah I’m just so happy.  Okay, this bread. Probably one of my favorite things that I have made so far. Sam and I ate the whole loaf in 2 days. It is really yummy for breakfast with a hot cup of coffee and a little bit of almond butter on top šŸ™‚ MMM! It is loaded with all of the flavors of Fall. It was also the perfect study snack! I brought some in to work to have

InstaFOOD Round-Up

Happy Sunday! Sunday’s are usually my day to meal prep and grocery shop. Sam and I both are up around 5am for workouts and then immediately start our day. We go-go-go until 6pm, so it’s super helpful for me to always meal prep. Otherwise we would be living off of poptarts… which doesn’t actually sound so bad… There are so many delicious meals that I make that don’t require a “recipe”. For instance, avocado with cottage and olive oil. Not really an in depth meal/snack that I would make an entire recipe post for, ya know? SO, I’ve decided to

Toasted Coconut Almond Butter

Coconut anything, please! It has always been my favorite flavor for everything. Coconut shrimp, coconut La Croix (obsessed), coconut body lotion, coconut ALMOND BUTTA. Totally winged this recipe and it turned into something that I have been making weekly. Sam is obsessed with it, even more than I am. And we all know how obsessed I am with almond butter. The cinnamon adds the perfect amount of spicy warmth and the pink Himalayan salt brings the flavors to life in your mouth. I like my butter extra coconutty, hence the “heaping” cup I add to it. šŸ™‚ Spread this pure

Lemon Poppyseed Muffins (Grain-Free!!)

A muffin that won’t give you a muffin-top. Sign me up! I love muffins. Egg muffins, savory muffins, sweet muffins. They are so easy to just grab’n go. And they are the perfect size! I find that when I bake loafs, I cut myself a huuuuuge (Donald Trump voice) slice, whereas a muffin is already a perfect serving size! Lemon poppyseed is one of my favorite muffin flavors. It’s really light, airy, and refreshing, but also is a comfort food. I always try to bake grain-free, which is great if you have allergies or are simply trying to avoid grains!

Dehydrated Banana Chips

A perfect snack at work, school, post- or pre-workout… really for whenever! It also makes for a dessert or smoothie topper haha. Take note that these babies take about 3 hours to cook. It’s actually kind of nice because once you get them in the oven you can go about your day for 3 hours. A few key notes about this recipe: Lemon Juice: I dip the banana coins in fresh lemon juice before putting them on the parchment paper. The lemon juice makes it so that the banana’s do not brown quickly and more evenly. RIPE Banana’s: I normally

Gingerbread Granola (with clusters!)

Continuing on with my gingerbread obsession, specifically with Wild Friends Gingerbread PB. Seriously guys, if you haven’t tried this stuff yet, I highly recommend it. It is so delicious spread on toast, in your oatmeal, in a smoothie, in my Gingerbread Cookies, and of course, in this granola šŸ˜‰ Granola clusters are my weakness and this granola is loaded with them. The perfect breakfast accessory (or plain), crunchy, and so warm with spices. The perfect addition to the holiday season! Enjoy! I hope your New Years is filled with so much love, laughter, and family šŸ™‚   Ɓ demain xo, Ashley

Stuffed Dates

I love eating dates. They are the perfect pick-me-up snack during the day. My favorite way to eat them? Stuffed! Dates are full of magnesium and potassium, which are amazing at lowering cholesterol and blood pressure.  Dates are also very high in fiber, which is great for heart health and keeping you on a regular schedule for visiting the loo. Dates are also very high in many different vitamins and minerals. One of these is iron, so I love eating these chewy delights around that time of the month. Dates are an awesome pre- or post-workout snack due to the

Spicy Turmeric Mixed Nuts

I go nuts for nuts. I am always eating some kind of trail mix, roasted nuts, raw nuts, nut butter… any type of nut in any type of form. Sam actually has a picture of me with my eyes rolling to the back of my head while eating a spoonful of Wild Friends Honey Peanut Butter with Pretzel Bits. First of all, just the name alone sounds amazing, but a huge spoonful is… pleasurable. Is there a Nut Butter Addict Anonymous group I should know about? If so, I need to enroll myself. Hi, my name is Ashley, and I
