Healthy Hot Chocolate

The best part of winter is making rich hot chocolate! Only downside is that often times hot chocolate is very high in calories, sugar, and fat. Eeek. Luckily, I have found the best *pure hot chocolate recipe that is still very rich, creamy, and chocolatey! I topped mine with CoCoWhip by So Delicious. It is dairy free, non-GMO, gluten free, vegan, no hydrogenated oils, and zero trans fat. WINNING! It has a coconutty taste, too, that has me wanting to swan-dive into the container. I love the taste of peppermint so I added some crushed candy cane on top of mine.

Raw Chocolate

National. Chocolate. Day. Also known as every woman on planet earths favorite day (I’m assuming). Anyone who knows me well knows that I have one of the biggest sweet tooths you’ve ever seen! I’m constantly shocking Sam with how much sugar I can consume (not proud of that). Chocolate is my favorite, so creating the perfect raw chocolate recipe was a must. I’ve always loved dark chocolate, beware that this is a little bit more bitter than the milk chocolate you would pick up at the store – but man oh man is it delicious. Toasted coconut and toasted almonds

Homemade Body Scrub

It’s Monday again?! My life is flashing before my eyes, I swear. Life needs to slow down and here is the perfect companion to help make that happen. A body scrub made from coffee, sugar, and coconut oil. Good garden peas this stuff is goooooood. I would definitely make sure that you like the smell of coffee before using this; however, I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who didn’t like the smell. If you’re that person that I haven’t met yet, comment below and introduce yourself and I will try my hardest to change your mind. This scrub makes your

Homemade Cinnamon Popcorn

Popcorn is always a go-to snack for me. I absolutely love it! However, I hate when it is soaked in butter and salt. It makes me feel groggy and slow after eating it. Not willing to give up my favorite snack, I figured out a healthier alternative! Brown bag popcorn. It’s as easy as it sounds. Simply throw popcorn kernels, oil, and whatever seasoning you prefer into a brown paper bag. Put the bag into the microwave and voila! Time to start the movie and demolish this delicious bag of popcorn. I love cinnamon on just about everything, but wasn’t quite

Ginger Cinnamon Raisin Almond Butter

Ohhhhhh my GOSH I think I’ve struck gold. Nope, I know I have. The other day I was in the Grand Rapids City Market and picked up a jar of cinnamon peanut butter. I thought to myself… I could totally make this. Then I thought of almonds. Then I thought of cinnamon. And ginger, and raisins, and ah! Gold. Sam is always making fun of me because whenever I go shopping, I bring home candles and some kind of nut butter. We currently have 8 jars of nut butter in the cabinet. Almond butter, peanut butter, sunflower butter… it’s a

Spiced Pumpkin Protein Muffins with Pecans

It is time! Time for everything pumpkin. Happy first day of fall! I love fall so stinkin’ much. I like to buy soy-based candles as much as I can, but I couldn’t resist buying the Pumpkin Pie candle from Bath and Body Works. In all seriousness, I want to eat this candle. It makes the house smell so divine and cozy. Perfect fall candle, for sure. While trying to think up pumpkin ideas, I thought of muffins. They’re easy to eat, make, and take on-the-go. These particular muffins are awesome because of the additional protein – great for a pre-
