Olyxir

If you guys follow me on Instagram, you know that I’ve been drinking a tea called Olyxir every morning. I’ve been drinking it for about 3 weeks now and wanted to share what I thought about it with you guys! A few months ago, I was listening to a lecture and I learned about the vast amount of polyphenols that are found in olives and their byproducts. I was specifically learning about extra virgin olive oil and how only olive oil contains a polyphenol called oleocanthal, which acts almost like an ibuprofen. Interesting, right?! I then heard about this company,

Rawtella

Hazelnut’s are so delicious – especially when dry roasted and ground up with chocolate. Now we’re talkin’. I’ve always been a huge fan of refined sugars. Not because of what they do for my body or make me feel (i.e. like crud), but because I looooooove chocolate and candy. After completing my first Whole 30, I got to see how I felt when I wasn’t eating sugar. Needless to say, refined sugar and I are officially breaking up. Call TMZ. I still need my chocolate fix though, so I turn to cacao. Many people get “cacao” and “cocoa” mixed up –

Chicken Soup

Chicken soup is a staple for Sam and I. It is so nourishing for our bodies, it is easy to make, and something about it just makes me feel super cozy! This is a great meal prep recipe. I make a lot of it and then Sam and I eat it for lunch and dinner for the next couple of days. By the end of the week we have chicken soup coming out of our ears haha I’m on day 11 for January Whole 30 (whoop whoop) and it’s surprisingly… easy. I have the biggest sweet tooth and during the holidays

Gingerbread Granola (with clusters!)

Continuing on with my gingerbread obsession, specifically with Wild Friends Gingerbread PB. Seriously guys, if you haven’t tried this stuff yet, I highly recommend it. It is so delicious spread on toast, in your oatmeal, in a smoothie, in my Gingerbread Cookies, and of course, in this granola πŸ˜‰ Granola clusters are my weakness and this granola is loaded with them. The perfect breakfast accessory (or plain), crunchy, and so warm with spices. The perfect addition to the holiday season! Enjoy! I hope your New Years is filled with so much love, laughter, and family πŸ™‚   Á demain xo, Ashley

Healthier Mac’n Cheese

Well, pumpkin season is pretty much over and I have to say, I’m not mad. Definitely went a little hard with the pumpkin inspired recipes, but now I’m ready for cranberries and peppermint infused recipes! BUT, one more pumpkin recipe won’t hurt. πŸ˜‰ I had one can of pumpkin left and totally hit a wall when trying to think of a recipe. Then Sam requested macaroni and cheese for dinner and BAM! it hit me. Put the pumpkin in the macaroni. Stay with me, here and have faith. It. was. delicious. Creamy, cheesy, warm, and comforting. The perfect meal on

Skinny Tuna Salad

Tuna salad is one of my favorite dishes! Unfortunately, it is normally made swimming in mayonnaise. Bleh. Not only is mayonnaise unhealthy to eat, but it is also a good way to put on a few elle-bees (lbs).  Don’t fret, there is hope for us tuna salad lovers! Replace that mayo with some Greek yogurt! I promise you won’t even be able to tell the difference. I also added a fresh honey crisp apple because it’s fall and they are soooo delicious. This tuna salad is perfect over a bed of greens (my fave way), as a sandwich, in a

Matcha Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies

Mint and chocolate is one of the best combo’s out there, I think! Sam and I are both obsessed with the flavor and go through pints of mint chocolate chip ice cream like it’s our job. Last night, while watching the MSU/Rutger game, Sam and I were craving some mint chocolate chip and I quickly whipped these delicious cookies up. A way better alternative to ice cream, but tastes just the same and satisfies the craving for dessert (which I get quite frequently). Leaves you feeling a lot happier and healthier too! : ) Moist on the inside, crunchy on the

Spicy Bison Chili

Here in Michigan, it has started to get cooler. Today was especially a little nippy and nothing sounded better than a big, warm bowl of chili. I make mine with bison for a few reasons. First off, turkey can get old sometimes when you constantly sub it for red meat. Plus, I really like red meat! Bison is the leanest type of red meat you can buy, so I love to cook with it. Believe it or not, bison is comparable to skinless chicken breast when it comes to calories, fat, and cholesterol. It’s a fantastic source of protein and iron, and even though

Today’s Clean Meals (+ Workout!)

I got a lot of positive feedback after posting What I Ate Today (Detox), so I thought I would go ahead and make another post about my clean meals from today! Not going to lie, eating clean, wholesome foods all of the time can get tiring for some, including myself. However, if you stick to it, your body will thank you in so many ways. More energy, glowing skin, lean body, happy spirit! I also included my workout routine from today. It was a tough one, but I sure needed it! After being sick in bed for 3 days, you
